Throughout the year, tourists converge on this destination, guaranteeing a steady flow of visitors. Yet, April and May usher in the rainy season, dampening travel with heightened precipitation. For an uninterrupted experience, it's best to schedule your visit outside these months, allowing you to fully relish the adventure without the interference of heavy rains.




How to Get to Ruaha National Park

To reach Ruaha National Park from Dar es Salaam (DAR) or Zanzibar (ZNZ), you have two main options. Firstly, you can take a domestic flight from either DAR or ZNZ to Ruaha airstrip, which is the nearest airstrip to the park, with flight durations ranging from 1.5 to 4 hours depending on the route.

Alternatively, you can drive from DAR to Iringa, a journey of about 8-10 hours, and then take a short flight to Ruaha airstrip, approximately 1 hour in duration. Upon arrival at Ruaha airstrip, transportation to your chosen lodge or camp within the park can be arranged. Planning in advance is advisable, especially regarding flight schedules and accommodations.
